Terms of Service

1. What harnx is

harnx is a desktop app for working alongside AI coding agents. By creating an account, downloading the app, or using any feature of harnx.dev, you agree to these terms.

2. Accounts

You're responsible for keeping your password and bearer tokens secret. If you spot anything weird — unrecognized devices, billing you don't recognize — email [email protected] immediately. You must be 18+ or have parental consent.

3. Subscriptions + billing

• Subscriptions auto-renew at the interval you pick (monthly or yearly) until you cancel.
• You can cancel any time from Settings → Account → Manage subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — no prorated refunds.
• Pro tier includes a 3-day trial for first-time subscribers. Max tier does not.
• Plan caps (monthly request count, dictation minutes) are enforced server-side. Going over the cap returns 429 until the next month or until you upgrade.
• Price changes apply to the next renewal, never the current one. We'll email you 30+ days in advance.

4. AI features

AI responses are generated by third-party models (Anthropic, OpenAI). They can be wrong, biased, or outdated. Review every AI-generated change before committing or shipping it. harnx is not liable for code the model wrote.

Don't use harnx to generate content that's illegal in your jurisdiction, infringes someone else's IP, harasses other people, or violates the AI providers' usage policies (Anthropic AUP, OpenAI usage policies).

5. Your content

You own the code, prompts, and outputs you send through harnx. We claim no rights to any of it. We process it only to serve your request and never use it to train any model.

You're responsible for making sure you have the right to upload whatever you upload. If your code includes secrets or PII, the desktop app does best-effort redaction before shipping it to the AI proxy, but that's not a guarantee — review what you're sending.

6. Acceptable use

Don't:

• Try to break, scrape, reverse-engineer, or DoS the service.
• Share credentials or resell access to other users.
• Use harnx to generate malware, exploit code intended for unauthorized targets, CSAM, or anything that's illegal in your jurisdiction.
• Impersonate another person or organization.
• Use the AI proxy as a general-purpose API for non-harnx clients.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. Repeat or severe violations forfeit any refund.

7. Service availability

We aim for 99% uptime but make no SLA promise. The AI providers we proxy to occasionally have outages; when they do, the harnx AI features go down with them. The local terminal features of the desktop app keep working regardless — those don't depend on our servers.

We may pause, change, or discontinue features with reasonable notice (30+ days for paid features that materially change). If we shut harnx down entirely, we'll give 60 days' notice and prorate refunds for any unused portion of a yearly plan.

8. Termination

You can close your account any time via Settings → Account → Sign out and wipe local data, then email us to delete the server-side row. We can terminate accounts for violation of these terms, fraud, or non-payment.

9. Disclaimer + liability

harnx is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — lost profits, lost data, broken builds, code an agent wrote that you shipped without reviewing. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim is capped at what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Indemnification

You'll defend and hold us harmless from claims arising out of (a) content you submit through harnx, (b) your violation of these terms, or (c) your violation of any third-party right.

11. Changes

We'll notify signed-in users by email at least 30 days before material changes take effect. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
